Kids Stool Softener Powder - 100 gms

Excellent formula for easy-to-pass softer stools

Regular price £1999

Stool Softener herbal powder is an incredibly soothing formula designed to provide relief and support for the upper and lower digestive tract and can assist in creating a softer , bulkier bowel movement.

Slippery elm and marshmallow root provide a soft, protective coating along the digestive tract, easing irritation and helping stools pass without discomfort. Irish moss adds natural moisture and gentle gel-like fibres that soften the stool, while psyllium offers a small amount of soluble fibre to support regular movement when mixed well with water or diluted juice. Together, these herbs create a calm, comfortable environment in the gut, ideal for little ones who strain, hold on, or become anxious around toileting.

To support the tummy further, fennel helps release trapped wind and relax tension that can slow the bowels, making it helpful for children who describe tightness or bloating. A touch of liquorice root soothes the digestive lining and encourages natural motility, especially when anxiety plays a role in constipation. This blend is gentle, non-stimulating and suitable for sensitive tummies, offering a natural way to soften stools and help children feel more at ease when opening their bowels.

It doesn't particularly mix well, so please see our tips for helping your child to take the powder.

Ingredients

Slippery Elm, Marshmallow Root, Psyllium Husk, Fennel Seed, Irish Moss (Sea Moss), Liquorice Root

Dosage

Simply mix 1 teaspoon with water, juice or milk to allow for a softer, easier-to-pass bowel movement.

An alternative to this is to add 1tsp of the powder to a small amount of cold ‘alternative milk’, such as almond, rice, cashew nut. Make a paste. Warm up some milk and add vanilla pod and cinnamon. Pour this over the paste. Drink before bed to soften the stool.

Ingredients Detailed

Slippery Elm
Slippery Elm is a very gentle herb that creates a soft, soothing coating along the digestive tract. For children who strain or feel discomfort when opening their bowels, it helps calm irritation and makes the stool easier to pass. It brings natural moisture into the gut and is safe for even the most sensitive tummies.

Marshmallow Root
Marshmallow contains a natural, jelly-like substance that softens and soothes the bowel. This can be especially helpful for children who have “dry” stools or who hold on due to anxiety or discomfort. It helps the stool glide through more easily without causing cramping.

Psyllium Husk
Psyllium is a soluble fibre that absorbs water and increases the softness and bulk of the stool. This encourages the bowel to move more regularly. For children, only a very small amount is needed, and it must always be mixed with plenty of water or diluted fruit to prevent the stool becoming too firm.

Fennel Seed
Fennel is calming for windy, bloated, or uncomfortable tummies. It gently relaxes the muscles of the digestive tract, helping trapped wind move through and reducing the tension that can slow bowel movements. It is particularly helpful for children who complain of a “tight” or gassy stomach alongside constipation.

Irish Moss (Sea Moss)
Irish Moss contains natural, gel-forming fibres that hold moisture in the stool and support a smoother bowel movement. It is also mineral-rich, which can be useful for children who may be a little dehydrated or have been constipated for several days. It softens without stimulating, making it very child-friendly.

Liquorice Root
Liquorice is soothing to the gut lining and gently supports the body’s natural ability to move the bowels. It also helps calm the digestive system if a child is anxious or tense, which is a common trigger for constipation. Liquorice should be used in small, appropriate doses for age and avoided in children with known blood pressure or kidney issues.
